Suppliers may label a stock item with several item codes to distinguish its type, but all of these codes would refer to the same item. This setting can be configured using the alternative item code feature.

At AutoCount Accounting,

go to Stock > Stock Item Maintenance

Login into POS after doing Speed Sync / Full Sync,

User may scan the items based on its type or the alternative codes, and it will be pointed to the item code and description of the item

For example, 

User can also search for the item based on the alternative item codes

On POS main screen, select 'Item' or click 'F1' key

Then, the 'Select Item' screen will appear

User needs to tick on 'Alternative Item Code'

* If the 'Alternative Item Code' is not showing, user might need to un-tick the 'Load all when startup'

To find an item using its alternative item code, insert the code into the "Search Keyword" field

For example,

When the alternative item code is entered, the search result will display the same item, which is 'ITEM A'.
