Backorder Control Maintenance for POS

Process of allowing customers to place orders even if user does not have sufficient stock on hand.

On AutoCount Accounting system,

  • To enable or disable Back Order Control in POS front end, user needs to go to Point of Sale > Maintenance > Terminal Settings Maintenance > Edit the default terminal ID

  • * User will also need to edit the access right in order to give permission to which group that will be able to do the transactions
  • To edit access right, go to Point of Sale > Maintenance > POS User Group Maintenance > Select 'FrontEnd Access Right Maintenance' > Find 'Backorder'

  • To set backorder control for each items, go to Stock > Stock Item Maintenance > Choose Item to Edit > Make sure the 'Back Order Control' is tick > Click 'OK' to save any changes

Q: What will happen in POS front end?

Scenario 1: Backorder control in terminal settings maintenance is tick, and access right given to both admin & cashiers

Result: Cashiers able to proceed with sales and scan the items that have backorder control without having to ask for admins' permission or password.

 

Scenario 2: Backorder control in terminal settings maintenance is tick, access right only given to admin

Result: Cashiers will need to ask for their supervisor / admin password in order to proceed to sell items that have backorder control. The items can only be sold when the admins provide their password.

 

Scenario 3: If backorder control in terminal settings maintenance is un-tick

Result: No effect, either cashiers or admins can proceed with sales of the items that have backorder control
